Installation Guide

Step 1: If your PC is running on Windows 2000 then install Microsoft Data Access Components 2.8 Serivce Pack 1. Otherwise, skip this step.

Step 2: If your PC is running on Windows XP Service Pack 1, please upgarde to Service Pack 2 using Windows Update programme, or install SP2. Otherwise, skip this step.

Step 3: If your PC is running on Windows 2000 / XP / 2003 then install Microsoft Jet Database Engine 4.0 Serivce Pack 8. Otherwise, skip this step.

Step 4: If you DO NOT have Microsoft Office then install ActiveX Control Pad

  • If you encounter error message "Run-Time Error 339" or "Missing FM20.dll", click here for solution...

Step 5: Install USB driver

Step 6: Install SMS360 version 4.

Step 7: Connect SMS360 MODEM to PC, then find the COM port number.

  • How to Find COM Port Number?
    • Step 1 - Right click on My Computer and select Manage.
    • Step 2 - Computer management windows will appear. Then, select "Device Manager".
    • Step 3 - Select "Ports (COM & LPT)". Look for "Profilic USB-toSerial Comm Port". In this example, the SMS360 Modem is connected to "COM4".

Step 8: Enter the COM Port number into SMS360 SMS Engine.

  • How to Enter COM Port Number?
    • Step 1 - In Start, select all Program.Look for "SMS360 Basic Edition" and select "SMS Engine".
    • Step 2 - Select "Settings" and then "SMS Modem Setting".
    • Step 3 - Enter "4" (in this exmaple it is "4") into "COM Port". Save the setting and exit.
    • Step 4 - Click "Start" to start the SMS Engine. Wait a moment for the modem to initialise and display information. Ensure "Running" is displayed.

Step 9: Run the SMS360 to start SMS broadcasting. For user's guide, please refer to here ...

Step 10: It is important that both SMS360 and SMS Engine must be running.

Step 11: Fill-up the Limited Warranty Form and submit to Authorised Reseller.
